David Pereda is an award-winning author who enjoys crafting political thrillers and mainstream novels. His books have won the Lighthouse Book Awards twice, the Royal Palm Awards, the National Indie Excellence Awards, and the Readers Favorite Awards. He has traveled to more than twenty-five countries and speaks several languages. Before devoting his time solely to writing and teaching, David had a successful international consulting career with global giant Booz Allen Hamilton, where he worked with the governments of Mexico, Venezuela, Peru and Qatar, among others.
“What I learned then,” says David, “has helped me enrich my novels with distinctive characters and exotic places.”
His latest mainstream novel, However Long the Night, published by Eternal Press in February 2012, has won two awards already and continues to receive rave reviews. His previous novels include the thrillers, Killing Castro, published by Eternal Press in January 2010, and Top Secret, published by Eternal Press in 2009. He is now hard at work on a third thriller, Twin Powers, with estimated publication in 2013, and on another mainstream novel, Havana Blues in Onyx, with anticipated publication in 2014.
A member of MENSA, David is the regional director of Florida Writers Association’s Western North Carolina division and the founder of AWE (Asheville Writing Enthusiasts). He loves sports and has won many prizes competing in track and show-jumping equestrian events. David lives with his family in Asheville, North Carolina.
